This course is unique in that it combines traditional counseling techniques with spiritual counseling techniques. You will learn effective questioning methods, what to do on the first interview, record-keeping basics, and how to set up your healing room. Study individual counseling skills, with an overview of cognitive, behavioral, psychoanalysis, and psycho educational therapy skills. Drug/alcohol intervention, anger management, and divorce are also covered. Learn how to apply the individual counseling techniques and gain a deeper understanding of the human psyche, discovering why some people behave the way they do. Study the relationship between the classic Jungian archetypes and the 7 major chakras. Many case studies are given as a guide to your learning. You will learn to use gentle energy work, breathing and movement exercises, affirmations specific for each chakra, color meditations, and chakra massage to help turn negative personality traits into positive traits, empowering yourself and others.
You will complete an internship of six case studies which will earn you 12 hours of internship credit, or you may choose to do more case studies to earn up to 60 hours of internship credit. This will give you a chance to apply what you have learned. At any time, you can ask for assistance if you feel you need it. This course includes two books, a study guide with practice questions, exercises, 6 case studies, and the final exam.
